Kudos to Driver Elementary School (Suffolk, Va.) for their remarkable display of insanity, for suspending two second graders. The cause: CBS/DC reports the two 7-year-olds were suspended for - - wait for it - pointing their pencils at one another and making shooting sounds.
It seems the boys' actions are a violation of the school's "zero tolerance policy on weapons." Sounds more like a zero tolerance policy on common sense. Sense when did the boys' pencils become weapons? Were they loaded?
Why don't we have a zero tolerance policy on this idiocy? Why don't we fire the loons who create this kind of policy, and then fire those who are stupid enough to follow it?
That would make the schools a lot safer for sure.
