From the Associated Press, Girard, Pennsylvania...
A 42 year-old woman was charged by police with disorderly conduct and misuse of 911 when she called them requesting a divorce and police assistance to make her husband leave. Perhaps she should not have decided to divorce her husband at 1 a.m. on a Saturday morning.
Naturally, the police were no help. No crime had been committed and divorce is a civil matter, so the police had no grounds to become involved. I'll bet the husband slept on the couch for the rest of the night, probably for his own safety.
I'd ask who this lady voted for in the last election, but that assumes she voted or knew how to. On the other hand, I'm sure some party member would have been only too happy to help this deep thinker vote - several times.

He Said What??
Barack Obama, most liberal senator ever and most liberal president ever, had this to say in response to the passing of conservative Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher... really:
"Michelle and I send our thoughts to the Thatcher family and all the British people as we carry on the work to which she dedicated her life..."

We Made 'Em and You Can't Have 'Em
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry claims your kids are not yours. According to Perry, they belong to the community. Usually I try to find news items that have a touch of humor in them, but there is nothing funny about anything she said or believes. Beware America, and be very afraid. This is what the ultra-left-culture-as normal-life is bringing us.
I don't know about you, but I am not ready to surrender my family. And if the government thinks they have a right to take it away, they don't have the sense... you know.
Here's the site to listen to Melissa Harris-Perry for yourself:

What? Guns Can Be Reloaded? Who Knew?
Colorado Democrat Rep. Diana DeGette may never live this down, and gun rights supporters are hoping she doesn't. The Congresswoman is on fire about banning high-capacity magazines as a means of curbing gun violence, as if the criminals care. But while commenting at a Denver Post forum earlier this week, DeGette responded to a question about the number of magazines already in existence that won't disappear once the ban is in place. This is how she answered:
"I will tell you these are ammunition - bullets - so the people who have those now, they are going to shoot them, and so if you ban - if you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won't be any more available."
In other words, once the magazines are empty, you have to throw them away. Except you don't.
And if you think that's dumb, the story gets worse. A spokesman for Rep. DeGette compounded this dismal display of ignorance by issuing a statement saying the Congresswoman "simply misspoke - "she should have referred to 'clips' which cannot be reused because they don't have a feeding mechanism."
Wrong again. And besides, the original question was specifically about high capacity magazines, not clips. So Rep. DeGette answered the question as asked. The problem is that she doesn't have a clue what she's talking about. Not about magazines, not about guns, not about anything related to the subject.
They live among us and they vote - on our laws in Congress. No wonder the country is in such a mess.

And We Thought Closing the White House Was Dumb ...
The Obama administration is closing tours of presidential planes on exhibit at the Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, Ohio. The story can be found at the Dayton Daily News website: www.daytondailynews.com/news/news/local-military/air-force-museum-cuts-tours-due-to-sequestration/nW9h4/
How low-down, dishonest, and plainly outrageous is this? My family and I toured the Air Force Museum and the presidential aircraft exhibit only last month. Here are some simple facts about that exhibit based on the fact that I was there to observe the situation for myself.
The personnel involved with our visit are all volunteer. How do I know this? The particular volunteer who registered us for our tour happens to be the mother of one of my church members. She's done volunteer work with the museum for years. As a matter of fact, a large number volunteers serve at various locations throughout the museum. It's the way they've always done business. Cost to the government for all this labor: $0.00.
After we were registered for the tour, we boarded a bus for the few minutes it took to ride to the hanger where the presidential planes are currently located. We were accompanied by a tour guide - also a volunteer - who gave us a brief description of the history of Wright Field and Patterson Field. Here's a newsflash: the government is spending a fortune to build a new wing to the Museum so the presidential plane exhibit can be moved from its current location at a hanger on the active part of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Not one word has been said about cancelling or delaying construction on this new wing. Instead, the White House expects the Air Force to shut down the volunteer-based tour. How smart is that?
When we arrived at the lone hanger, we were let off the bus and informed about what time the bus would reload. We were free to move about within the hanger since all the tours - like the rest of the museum - are self-guided. Tour guides (more volunteers) are available but not required. No Air Force personnel were involved with our tour. No one was stationed at the hanger. Cost to the Air Force: $0.00.
After an hour in the hanger, we boarded the bus back to the museum entrance. Along the way, we were invited to volunteer to serve the museum. All the people who helped us, including the bus driver, were volunteers. Cost to the taxpayers: $0.00.
In other words, the White House is forcing the Air Force to shut down a tour that costs nothing on account of cost. If you ever needed evidence that this whole sequestration thing is an absolute farce, a total lie, this is it.
And like a lot of things that characterize our government and leadership these days, not only is it stupid, it's dishonest.

Twitter, McCain Style
Meghan McCain's actual Twitter post (9:53 PM - 31 Mar 13):
"I'm a lover not a fighter, but I'm also a fighter so watch it."
Got that?

911 Chinese Drill
From CBS Boston - A New Hampshire woman called 911 because she needed help ordering Chinese food. Maybe she just couldn't speak Chinese (and the fire department could?) Obviously, she needs more help than that. She complicated things by falsely reporting a fire first. If she ordered jalapenos, she would have needed the fire department. Considering the $5000 bail, this turned out to be one expensive Chinese meal. I suggest Kentucky Fried Chicken next time. They probably still speak English in Kentucky.
Betcha she votes, and you can just guess for which party. No, I'm not giving hints.
